Bellasavy

Introducing pop singer/songwriter Bellsavvy. The sassy singer whose vibrant take on pop can be attributed partially to her Brazilian heritage, as showcased through the Latin influenced sounds found in her music, first rose to prominence singing on the show “Studio Acesso Girls MTV” performing to over 1.8 million live viewers who all voted for her performance.

Pivoting from TV the pop singer landed a number of roles in movies, musicals and various other musical projects around Europe.

Challening the likes of pop powerhouse Demi Lovato and Brittney Spears Bellasavy returns with new self-love anthem “Queen of My Mind” , which was written after overcoming her own internal battles as a result of body shaming during her time as a model.

Bellsavy sat down with IndustryMe to discuss her latest single, self-love, and more.

When did you realise that music was what you wanted to ultimately pursue and how did you make that transition?

I realized that music was my calling when I got into a music contest in my high school and performed on its finals for 10 thousand people at its finals. When I stepped on that stage I felt something I never felt before. Was magical! Like I belonged there since ever. But what ultimately made me transition from modeling to music 100%, was when I had this massive rejection coming form the modeling industry after body shaming me for my body’s natural changes of shape and size. At that moment with the whole situation with body shaming and their rejection upon me, I realized the modeling industry was not meeting my values as a woman and as a human being and I found my strength and comfort in making music. A true love story between music and me.

Is it important for you to make that transition into the western market or would you say conquering the Latin Market is higher on the list of priorities for you?

For me, the world is the world. I love to think like this, like an unified big home. So every market is equally important to me. The Latin market is home and it’s an honor to be supported and accepted there, but I have to confess that European, UK, and US markets were always my biggest dreams. Don’t tell them (the Latin market) I told you this! (laughs)

“Queen of my Mind” is a huge statement song. What is it that you want listeners to take away from it?

I’d love to encourage people to understand that self-love is the most important thing you can have in life. Self-love can change your life, it’s magical! And it’s fine to be struggling with some inner battles you know? It’s part of the process. If I was able to find my inner strength to overcome my inner battles and find my self-love, you can also do it! That’s what I want people to take away from Queen Of My Mind.

The hook says “Now, I’m the Queen of my mind” which suggests there was a time where you were not. Can you tell us a bit more about that and how you got out of that place?

I shared the real enrollment of this process of getting out of that place on my lyrics. I’ve been in a very dark place in my past after suffering a mental break down for being body-shamed and massively rejected, resulting in several losses in my life, including my own self-love. The whole process of becoming the “Queen of My Mind” is long and takes time. It’s all about self-knowledge and healing. It’s about suffering it, understanding it, then denying it, fighting against it and losing the game, then finding strength back again so you then win the war against it all. That’s Boeing was with me, and just after it all I could finally realize that I found my self-love and became the “Queen of My Mind”.

How would you personally define self-love?

My definition of self love is self acceptance and self care. It’s you loving and respecting this beautiful unique being you are, exactly the way you are. Giving yourself love and kindness, accepting and embracing everything that you are.

What advice would you give someone who may be struggling to love themselves?

Stay strong and be patient to yourself. Kindness and time is key. You need to respect your healing process and it’s timing. Don’t let anybody touch you with negative words and ideas about you. Nobody can tell you who you are, but you! So hold tight to yourself and be sure you will find your inner strength to find your self love.

The single was produced by David Lei Brandt, who people may recognise from working with Lady Gaga, how did that collaboration come about?

I was introduced to him back in Berlin by his girlfriend India Rischko, that works with me as my choreographer in Germany. I showed him the idea for “Queen Of My Mind” and the whole meaning that this song has and we instantaneously got it flowing. He was the perfect producer to understand what this song was all about and to bring it to life with his production. Was amazing!

With everything going on in the world it’s becoming more and more important for artists to use their platforms in a positive way. What do you hope to do with yours?

I hope I can create more positivity, hope, and awareness about mental health and self-love. There’s so much heaviness in the world right now, I hope the open-hearted story behind my song can enlighten people’s heart a little bit and bring them strength ♥️

Finally, what can we expect from your music over the next few months?

“Queen Of My Mind” has a chapter two. And it’s gonna be released this year! I’m so excited for it. I started working on a whole EP and I’m gonna share a lot in there. I can’t wait to share all of it with you guys.
