Ezra Collective Take the Crown as They Win the Mercury Prize

Ezra Collective have won the highly regarded Mercury Prize for 2023, with their LP ‘Where I’m Meant To Be‘. The jazz quintet faced esteemed competition from the likes of RAYE, Loyle Carner, and Jessie Ware. They dedicated the award to youth clubs, having proclaimed they met there and those workers people were important to themselves and others’ journeys.

Ezra Collective follows a long list of acclaimed artists to win the award ranging from Little Simz and Arlo Parks to M People and Ms. Dynamite. This also marked a historical moment as the first time a jazz record had won. The future is bright for this fivesome, with this likely another big step in a successful career.
