Fireboy DML had plenty of global success last year following his third studio album ‘Playboy’. Now, the award-winning Nigerian lyricist is back with a bang with his new single ‘Someone’.
Released to the world on the 3rd of May, Fireboy DML’s latest track sees him in a reflective place projecting his true romantic side. He is eager to make things work in a relationship tainted by the struggles of touring and fame. ‘Someone‘ is a smooth, upbeat love song laced with a summer glow. It further demonstrates why he’s dubbed as a leading Afrobeats artist today.
Alongside this new project, a narrative-driven music video was released; directed by Bruno Marin. Within the visualiser, we see a reenactment of his time on tour, but from the perspective of his relationship. In this 5-minute scene, he depicts the highs of sharing this experience with someone you love, but also the strain that can be placed on a relationship within this capacity. Making an acting cameo, Fireboy DML exhibits his versatility and passion for his craft.
