Hi guys it’s Andreia here, So a couple of weeks back I was listening to Coffee Convos by Lindsey Chrisley and Kail Lowry. They were talking about skin care routines. They said something that stuck with me.

They said ‘By the time you are 25 years old you should have a set skincare routine‘. This made me start to panic and it was like with a click of a finger I could suddenly see all the signs of ageing all over my face.

At that moment I began re-searching how I could build a skin care routine that provides my skin with everything it needs. These are the steps that I carried out to create a skin care routine that is perfect for me.

1.Workout Your Skin Type

Everyone has a different type of skin. It’s important to workout what kind of skin you have so that you can pick products that provide your skin with everything that it needs. Here is a list of the different types of skin and a small description to help you workout your skin type.

Dry skin– Rough and flaky

Oily skin– visible pores and feels greasy

Combination Skin- dry (cheeks) and oily (forehead, nose and chin)

Sensitive Skin– may feel tingling or burning sensation after using some makeup and/or skincare products

Normal Skin– clear and doesn’t feel sensitive when applying products

2. Start with Your Basic Products

There are 3 products that should be included in everyone’s skin care routine. They are cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. You don’t need to spend a fortune on skin care products. There are amazing drugstore brands out there. My favourite brand is Garnier.

3. Pick your Specialist Products

There are a few things you can choose from depending on the type of skin you have. For example you can add toner, exfoliator, face masks and face oils. Here are a few things you can add depending on your skin type.

4. Choose your time

Some people like to do their skin care routines in the morning and some prefer to do it in the evening. I personally prefer to carry out mine in the evening before I got to bed. I like to go to sleep with fresh and clean skin. Then the next working all I do is rinse my face with warm water and apply my moisturiser.

5. Do a Skin Type Appropriate Mask Once Per Week

I usually like to do this on a Sunday evening. I feel like this preps me for the week ahead

6. Pat your Skin Don’t Rub

When drying your skin try not to rub it as this can cause premature aging. Instead try gently patting your skin dry. This also applies to when your applying your products. Try not to tug on your skin too hard.
