#IMDiscovers: September Roundup

Tamaraebi – Heavens Gate

First up on this month’s roundup is Tamaraebi with ‘Heavens Gate’. An artist on the rise, Tamaraebi has had numerous achievements, including selling out his debut headline show in London at The Waiting Room at the start of this year, as well as supporting Jonas Blue in the Wembley Arena back in 2017. Releasing his new single on the 6th of September, he has already been met by a warm response. It’s instantly recognisable with its intensely emotional vocals; which have an incredible range to them. He fits in perfectly to the growing R&B landscape.

Myylo – Sad Boys

Released on September 20, ‘Sad Boys’ is a truly relevant track, exploring the theme of masculinity and how many men within society feel they cannot express their emotions. Like other songs in their tracklist, Myylo break down societal barriers within their music and challenge masculine ideals. Their stunning pop sound and boyish relatability is exactly what makes Myylo a perfect fit for this roundup. We can’t wait to see what barriers Myylo break down next!

Brooke Alexx – Perfect

Brooke Alexx’s new EP ‘Me’ is a showcase of her infectious pop sound and her shining personality as a musician and singer. Drums and synth are at the forefront of this EP, accompanying her soft vocals perfectly. ‘Perfect’ is a song about embracing your imperfections and learning to love who you are. The thing I love about this track is how relatable it is for so many young people within society. The chorus is a real head bopper and will have you singing along instantly.

Ajia – Immortal

Ajia is well on her way to becoming a top R&B performer in the UK, with the
release of her new EP ‘Touching the Surface’. The singer hits us with nostalgic 90’s R&B on her track ‘Immortal’ and this is present through her entire tracklist. She is gaining success across the UK, being confirmed to do the Jazz Café tour in November, taking place in London, Manchester and Birmingham. Her usual Neo soul influences are also showcased across all seven songs on the EP.

Che Lingo – Badman

Next up on the roundup is South London based rapper/MC Che Lingo, who is most well known for rapping over soulful melodies. He has played stages at some of the Summer’s biggest festivals, such as Ends Festival in Croydon, Latitude and Glastonbury to name a few. It comes as no surprise that the rapper is highly sought after as a performer for several upcoming shows. ‘Badman’ features a host of relatable lyrics and also has a melodic rap style that isn’t commonly heard within a lot of rap music, cementing him as an artist who continues to create his own lane.

Bellah – Last Train Home

Emerging R&B songstress Bellah has dropped her most recent EP ‘Last Train Home’. Bellah has created quite a stir within the music industry, already wracking up quite the fan base, with some famous faces starting to recognise her also (including Annie Mac and Huw Stevens). She’s incredibly versatile, releasing promising tracks such as ‘Lost Ones’, ‘Return Policy’ and ‘Try for You’. The EP is a perfect representation of Bellah making a name for herself, attracting co-signs left right and centre from the likes of Stormzy and Ms Banks.

Jane Q Public – Sugar Water

Jane Q has released her new single ‘Sugar Water’. She brings her urban and modern vibes to this track, which is one that has many layers of musical genius and beauty. Her track has a slightly ambient quality to it, that has a reminder of lake water flowing in time to the melody. The song is about falling in love after having your heart broken, but more importantly the exploration of emotions. Her vocals flow over the beauty of the melody and instrumentation, creating a powerful moment that only the most talented of songwriters can make.

Harlea – 99

Produced by Rock Mafia, the very same producers of Ariana Grande, ‘99’ is an atmospheric journey, an intense yet beautiful listen. The song explores overwhelming passion and living in the moment and not caring for the consequences. An emotional powerhouse, Harlea is rising to the top of the industry, making a name and an impact on modern music today.

Mellow – Asole

Actress and musician Mellow has released her debut album, featuring lead single ‘Asole (There He Is)’. Mellow has had a very successful career on stage but her calling for music has lead her straight into the industry. ‘Asole’ was inspired by Mellow’s different experiences with her friends and family and the challenges that come with love. ‘Asole’ means ‘there he is’ and is about a guy who breaks a woman’s heart and then runs away with it before she exposes him, speaking about him behind his back and revealing the issues in their relationship. The 5 track EP is an expression of love, relationships heartbreak and happiness.

Amber Ais – Anything

Amber Ais has just recently released her single ‘Anything’, a song about Ambers struggles of being a romantic and finding herself wanting to deal with peoples issues but learning how to also take a step back. A moving and emotional piece, Amber truly pours her heart and soul into this piece, being entirely honest and genuine over the romantic melodies. We love this one Amber!
