Danelle Sandoval – Go

American singer-songwriter Danelle Sandoval aims to empower on her new single – “Go”.

Produced by Jeff Hazin, “Go” is a track about acceptance, empowerment and confidence as Sandoval embraces her identity as an Asian American woman. Throughout the track, Sandoval lays sultry vocals complemented by the smooth rhythms of the song.

Sandoval described “Go” as a way of reclaiming her “sexual identity and not being anyone’s fantasy”. She also discussed the stereotype of Asian women being seen as “submissive, acquiescent, meek, docile” – which she began to believed for a while; having an impact on her mental health.

With her new song, she lets it be known as an Asian-American women she can be dominant, aiming to challenge those stereotypes.

MileHi – to love & lie

Hackney’s own MileHi questions if we are willing to settle for less than we deserve in his latest single – “to love & lie”.

Following his previous single, “Your Body”, “to love & lie” is an alternative R&B track which infuses Rock & Roll elements as MileHi lays down smooth vocals. “to love & lie” explores the impact being in a toxic relationship can have on a person – acting less like themselves. As a result, this has a negative impact on the relationship but it is what both individuals will grow accustom to and eventually enjoy and love.

Bethia x Mort – It Don’t Faze Me

Bethia x Mort join forces again with their new single – “It Don’t Faze Me”.

Having previously worked together for the EP, Part 1 back in 2020, singer Bethia and electronic R&B producer Mort wrote and produced a second EP via Skype during lockdown.

The first of three singles from their second EP, Part 2, “It Don’t Faze Me” is a chill R&B/Electronic track which explores the idea of falling for someone more than you thought you would, and although there are many bumps along the way, they don’t seem to faze you.

Mia Giovina – Time Machine

Rising star Mia Giovina wants to go back to simpler times with her new single – “Time Machine”.

Following her debut single, “Sirens”, back in March, “Time Machine” is a song about watching your childhood fade away as you and the people around you are in the throes of adulthood.

The New Jersey native is a Tik Tok sensation who found popularity rewriting popular songs as well as sharing her own original pieces. Giovina is dedicated in having her music create a safe space for listeners.

Bailey Coats – FOMO

Alabama native Bailey Coats tackles the tough decision of choosing between love and music for new single – “FOMO”.

Following her previous single, “Something in the water,” Coats comes out with a melodically darker and bass heavy tracks – breaking away from the tone of her previous singles. Working with producer Khris Riddick-Tynes, Coats wrote “FOMO” after being at a crossroads in her life – having to make the decision of maintaining her relationship or pursing her love of music. This is something Coats hopes listeners can relate to.

“FOMO” is expected to appear on Coats’ upcoming EP – scheduled to be released in Autumn.

LOONY – soft thing EP

Toronto-based Alternative R&B artist LOONY has dropped her second EP – soft thing.

The eight-track EP which is an exploration of love in many forms includes previous singles: “be cool”, “raw”, “royal flush” and “either side”. The EP features two guest appearances with Chicago-based artist Mick Jenkins on “royal flush” and New Orleans rapper and singer Pell on “mine”.

soft thing came to be during quarantine as LOONY worked with producers: Adam Pondang, Noah ‘40’ Shebib and protégé Akeel Henry in order to get a more authentic style and sound. LOONY and her production team quarantined in several Airbnbs around LOONY’s native Scarborough.

In September, LOONY is set to take soft thing on the road as part of a mini-tour across North America.

Maike – Lowkey

London based Singer/Songwriter Maike aims to keep her relationship “Lowkey” in her new single.

In the breathy and dreamy track, Maike tells the tale of two protagonists at the beginning of their brand-new relationship, trying to figure how to make it work without rushing into things. Maike described the motivation of this song as, “Fresh starts, the beauty in healing & boys with good hearts”.

Maike drops soft, subtle vocals over the chilled, ambient sounding track emphasizing the song’s message of taking things slow to create something worthwhile.

Maike currently works with Berlin-based independent record label, 21 Gramm, releasing music in both the UK and German market.

Summer Banton – Don’t Make Me Feel

Summer Banton shows her sensitive side in her latest single – “Don’t Make Me Feel”.

Produced by Livingston Brown, “Don’t Make Me Feel” is a silky R&B track about Banton taking control in a no strings attached situationship. Throughout the track, Banton displays her sultry vocals as she expresses to her lover, “Don’t make me feel until you prove that you’re real”.

Banton described the song as: “The desire of wanting to build trust and get more comfortable with someone before falling for them completely, which isn’t always easy!”.
