#IMDiscovers: The March Edition (Part 1)

Spring is here, which means warmer weather, leaves are emerging, and fresh tunes are aplenty. Whether you’re going for a hike, a long drive, or just chilling on your own, this latest batch of music is sure to keep you happy.

Cheryll-One Of A Kind

Having already shown she is a future star in the making, Cheryll continues to hit the ball out of the park. ‘One Of A Kind‘ showcases those chilled, melodic vocals over a very old-school, acoustic slice of R’n’B. Having already proven herself on previous singles and at our own open mic night, this is yet another showing of why Cheryll is set to take 2023 by storm.

Christian French-thank god

Following a very successful 2022, Christian French has made a good start to the new year on his latest single. ‘thank god‘ provides the details of French being grateful for getting out of a bad relationship, and having learned many lessons. The up-tempo guitar-driven beat fits those catchy pop sensibilities, while he delivers on the vocal front as well. It appears with addictive material like this that it’s going to be another good year for this artist.

Danelle Sandoval-Cold

Having achieved success with her remix of the hugely popular ‘Tuesday‘ by ILOVEMAKONNEN, Danelle Sandoval shows she has the songwriting chops as well. The soulful vocals alongside the smooth production of ‘Cold‘ fit the tone of a relationship at its end. Here, Sandoval continues to show her talents as an artist, leaving fans wanting more.

Songer FT D Double E-04:59

Having already reached the U.K. top 40 on the remix of Vibe Chemistry’s Balling,’ Songer is setting out on his own on ‘04:59.’ Featuring the iconic D Double E, the slick vocals over this relaxing house beat is a match made in heaven. Perfect for that house party at the weekend, this should take Songer to the next level.

Dark Bardo FT Shungudzo-Wild Thought

Coming straight out the blocks on their debut single, Dark Bardo certainly knows how to make an impression. With the energetic, wild-west-inspired instrumental and Shungudzo’s calming, but fiery vocals, ‘Wild Thought‘ is certainly a fitting title. This track is full of energy and passion, with a real showcase of something fresh, that has us interested to see what the duo does next time out.

Binta-Do You Wanna

Mixing drum’n’bass with pop lyricism, Binta makes her debut on the Mind Of A Genius label in style. She brings a smoother vocal delivery to this style of music that matches well the electronic beat. It provides a good middle-ground between dancefloor jam and the mellow music to cure a hangover. Having already caught the attention of Zane Lowe and Radio 1, this won’t be the last you hear of Binta.

Dboi-Bezos

Dboi brings the vibes with this collision of afrobeats and pop on ‘Bezos.’ The autotuned vocals over this glitzy beat work a treat. Produced by KDDO, this track already had star quality written all over it and has delivered on that front. The melodic and silky nature of the track is sure to catch on, making Dboi someone to watch this year.
