#IMDiscovers: The March Edition (Part 2)

It may only be March, but already we have found so much great music in 2023, and it’s only Spring. The leaves have formed, but the weather still isn’t quite up to standard yet. But fear not, as whether you’re inside with the heater on or going for a brisk walk, this latest batch of tracks will keep you company.

BEKA-Tears

Bringing an upbeat pop production and a powerful vocal delivery, BEKA shines on her first release of 2023. Written after her recent ADHD diagnosis, it is a positive and uplifting anthem full of strength and grit. This track is sure to inspire some people to move past their own worries and fears and gives us a taster of a new era for this rising star.

KTJ & Carly-S****y People

Having featured plenty of times on IndustryMe, it is no surprise to see KTJ & Carly dropping another great track. Their vocal chemistry continues to shine, as does their soulful voices over this initially mellow piano production before the beat kicks in on the chorus. The themes are very relatable, discussing being a people pleaser to everyone, including those ‘S****y People.’ These two continue to drop consistently quality releases, so don’t expect this Spring release to be their only music this year.

Tilly Valentine-Statue

Coming off the back of her ‘Half Full/Half Empty‘ EP, Tilly Valentine makes a solid start to 2023. Her chilled and calming delivery is pleasant on the ear, while her songwriting ability is just as good. This latest release ticks all the boxes and is sure to get some attention, having previously been championed on various BBC radio stations. If you haven’t heard of Tilly Valentine before, you will start to hear more about her over the coming months.

Kali Claire-Before the World Ends

Yet another rising star in the world of R’n’B, Kali Claire continues her rise to stardom on this latest banger. Packing a smooth and attention-grabbing vocal range, over this addictive melody, she proves why she is a name to be reckoned with. This may follow similar themes of attraction and feelings you find in R’n’B, but Claire truly stands out. Once again, this is another U.K. talent highlighting that R’n’B deserves some more respect.

Duppy-Ayy (Intro)

The first release of 2023 from this Purple List alumni provides an introduction to his upcoming new EP. The man attacks the beat with venom, spitting word after word alongside a sensational beat that has your head bopping. Having recently featured on Sir Spyro’s Sound of the Verse freestyle platform, 2023 continues to promise to be his year to climb and climb.

Br3nya-Payday

After some time out, Br3nya is back and she ain’t here to mess about. Her confidence, swagger, and range of flows show an MC who knows their worth. The Afrobeats-inspired production fits nicely, as she reflects on life and her place in the rap game. Having recently featured on +44’s Independent Women’s Day and this song receiving its premiere on Snoochie Shy’s 1Xtra show, Br3nya is sure to get that chart place she desires very soon. Also, we may have another star in the making as her six-year-old niece raps in the video.

Edsik and Logan-Madsik

Fusing dancehall and Grime, Edsik and Logan are certainly making their own unique wave on ‘Madsik.’ The bassy and wavey production will have you heading straight to the rave and Logan’s flow is the perfect match. Both have received praise in the rave and grime scenes respectively, and we’re sure you’d love to hear more tracks from this duo.

Pao Pestana-NMIGO

Pao Pestana certainly knows how to bring the vibes on ‘NMIGO,’ bringing a lot of energy and passion. ‘NMIGO‘ which means enemy, was inspired by deception in her life and is very much a don’t mess with me anthem. If you like what you hear, be sure to expect more material as her debut EP ‘No Apagues La Luna‘ is due next month to close out your Spring.

Phabo FT. Shaé Universe-Out of Touch

Phabo has had a pretty productive year so far, with this being 1 of 4 tracks he has been part of so far. His vocals are on point and match up nicely with the featured Shaé Universe. The crisp, slightly melancholic production works very well on this duet, making for a soothing listen. Both artists are immaculate here and are set for stellar careers going forward.

Odysshey-Just When

Odysshey is someone to keep on your radar, as she proves on her first release since 2020. The sparkling and bouncy production is extremely catchy and having previously been in a choir, it’s no surprise the vocals are great here. This truly is a smooth and fresh song, sure to soundtrack your Spring as shown by its cover image.
