#IMDiscovers: The November Roundup (Part 2)

As 2022 draws to a close and Christmas is but a month away, it’s time for our final roundup of the year. These tunes will keep you going during the shorter days and get the party started before a cold night out. So, have a great festive season, and make sure to add these tunes to your winter playlist.

Jaz Karis-DEAR JAZ

Back with a new EP, Jaz Karis is here to show why she’s a name to be reckoned with in R’n’B. Except for Kojey Radical introducing the project, this is all about Jaz and her sultry vocals mixed in with reflection. Whether on the bouncy summer anthem ‘SIDE OF YOU‘ or the anthemic-synthy ‘COME OUTSIDE,’ there is plenty of flavours to this talented artist. With support from the likes of Bellah and Tiana Major9, this is the next star to get on your radar.

El’vee-U.A.R

This sisterly duo brings the chemistry and the party vibes on the ‘U.A.R‘ EP. Tracks like ‘Jealousy‘ bring the auto-tuned Afrobeat, dancefloor smashes, while there are calmer moments like ‘I Don’t Wanna.’ The EP’s title stands for Unapologetic African Rhythms and it certainly is that. If you want some anthems before a night out or a winter house party, El’vee is the place to go.

BENTLE-Darkest Blue

The latest release from Josh McVey (a.k.a BENTLE) is a great blend of hypnotic and wavey synth-pop. It’s the first release in 2022 and is as addictive as a pop song should be with its great melody and hook. With this being his latest release in almost two years, expect something big soon.

Lily Agnes-The 52

Signed to the iconic Rinse FM, Lily Agnes has a lot of expectations on her shoulders. The song is very personal and highlights the weight of depression on yourself, caused by things other than you would expect. The honesty in her delivery captures your attention, as does her fantastic voice over this relaxed production. With more to come from this rising star, expect to hear more about Lily Agnes in 2023.

Rippa-My Bag

Rippa is an emcee who brings a silky delivery and just the right flow over this melodic drill beat. Toddla T on production was always going to hit, but on his second release, the South-Londoner is already standing strong. The track brings plenty of lyricism and wordplay, with a catchy chorus to add the cherry on top. The track comes from his debut EP ‘Night Time Walk,’ which you can stream on the 2nd of December.

Joya Mooi-Tears

Giving fans a final teaser before the full-length project, Joya Mooi continues to show her appeal on ‘Tears.’ The kick drums, warped vocal sample, and top-notch delivery are a triple threat that is perfect for R’n’B. The focus on letting go and leaning into life is relatable and leans into her overall themes of making music based on the experiences of those in the African diaspora. Impactful and soulful music is just what you want from an artist, and there is bound to be plenty of that on her forthcoming album in January.

Enisa-Just A Kiss (Muah)

While the interpolation of ‘Kiss Kiss‘ by Tarkan hits that nostalgic feeling, Enisa brings her own unique take on this pop gem. This is not just another lazy sampling to get people on board, as this feels like a new version for a new generation. Enisa continues to build her fanbase topping the charts in Europe, South Asia, and Africa, with this latest jam sure to further her success.

Teon Gibbs FT. Jaspa, Jonny Tobin & falcxne-Easy

Bringing smooth-jazzy Hip-Hop vibes, Teon Gibbs shows there are many flavours to Canadian Rap. Alongside his collaborators, Jaspa, Jonny Tobin, and falcxne, they bring the flows and the bars to keep you listening. Released as his second single on 100 Collective Records, we’re expecting more bangers from this future star.

Jamilah-SOS

Jamilah brings R’n’B and Pop sounds together, to make this earworm of a track. Her soulful vocals and the wavey production are a match made in heaven, as she tries to get her friend to take her advice on board. The Newcastle songstress exuberates heart and soul here and with previous support from the BBC and Capital Xtra is bound to make noise with this one.

Murdo Mitchell-Lies

Having been supporting Dylan John Thomas on his tour, Murdo Mitchell is the main attraction on ‘Lies.’ This acoustic number is raw, allowing the singer to showcase his vocals and songwriting abilities. This is sure to be a favourite on the tour, with Mitchell’s authenticity sure to capture new fans.
