IndustryMe’s Top Tip Tuesday: How to pick yourself up on a down day feat. MatchaNow

Ever wake up and just feel ‘Urghhh’? You are not alone, it happens to me all the time especially now that I am a mum. Sometimes my baby will be teething which causes her to become very fussy and unsettled during the night. When this happens I of course spend all night long getting in and out of bed whenever she cries to comfort her which means I wake up feeling exhausted. On these types of days there are a few things that I like to do to make me feel better. Here they are…

Workout

Ok your probably reading this and thinking ‘Guuurlll are you serious right now?! I feel like poo and you are telling me workout?!’ Hear me out!! I don’t mean like HIIT workouts or weightlifting workouts. Yoga and Pilates are calm and relaxing and still count as a workout. It helps wake me up and give me a little spurt of energy.

Drink, Drink, Drink

No I don’t mean G&T. I always have to have my coffee in them morning no matter what but because I breastfeed I have to limit my caffeine intake. So on these days that I feel like I need a little pick me up I grab my Matcha Tea. These bottles are so convinient and mess free. The bottles is full of water but has a special twist cap that releases the Matcha Powder into the water without you having to use a scoop or even open the bottle. Then you just shake the bottle to combine the water and the Matcha powder and you are good to go. Matcha contains antioxidants and naturally occuring caffeine which means you get a slow release of energy into your body rather than the full blown hit that coffee gives you. Listen to podcasts

I love listening to podcast recently especially when im folding laundry or washing the dishes. Of course when I feel like this I don’t want to clean or do any chores but I am a mummy so I always have chores to do. Listening to Podcasts makes the chores go by faster. My favourite podcast is Coffee Convos by Kailyn Lowry and Lindsey Chrisley. It’s so relateable and funny.

Self Care

If I had to pick a day that I could pamper myself with a face mask and a foot soak it would definitely be these types of day. I find that this gives me an extra boost and makes me feel fresh. I love to soak my feet in hot water and epsom salts because it brings swelling in your feet down. For some reason whenever I don’t sleep properly I always wake up the next day with swollen feet so the epsom salts and hot water definitely help with that.

Eat light foods

Imagine feeling horrid and then going ahead and eating a tonne of food and it making you feel stuffed?! I just can’t handle it because it makes me feel worse than I already was. So as much as I am tempted when I see junk food, I try and avoid it sticking to light food instead.

One of my favourite snacks at the moment is s yoghurt in a bowl mixed with dry oats and some type of fruit. I always find that this makes me feel satisfied rather than full which is amazing plus it tastes great.
