JayaHadADream Gets the Spotlight from Semtex on ‘SYMS’

IndustryMe and Semtex seem to have something in common, knowing who is next up. The respected DJ teamed up with Skee earlier this year, and now he has given the spotlight to another 2025 Purple List artist. This time it is JayaHadADream on the mic, a Jamaican-Irish rapper who has been improving her craft in Cambridge, Nottingham, and now the capital.
A former teacher, it is no surprise that she has a way with words, and this certainly shows on ‘SYMS‘. That booming Jersey club sound will blow your eardrums out but is a nice contrast to the calm delivery of the MC. Her energy builds up as the track continues with bars around the come-up and those who doubt this artist. It once again proves her genre-versatility, showing she can spit on U.K. Bass, D’n’B, jazz rap, or anything else.
I’m interested to see if Semtex has a project with the U.K.’s rising stars lined up following these two singles. As for Jaya, she has a big summer ahead including the first SXSW in London and Radio 1’s Big Weekend. This MC is certainly going places and should be on your radar by now.
