#IMDiscovers: The June Roundup (Part 2)

If you’re looking for some music to add to your playlist, here’s a little roundup of songs to suit all vibes this summer if you’re out or at home, day or night these our some of the IndustryMe picks.

SEINABO SEY – “Sweet Life” EP

Sweet Life came out in early June and Seinabo Sey has released the perfect four song EP to start off the summer. Music from Seinabo, is a treat since being an opening act for Lauryn Hill before covid hit and her last music release was back in 2018 with ‘I’m a Dream’, we’ve been awaiting to see what she’s bringing next and Sweet Life is a great balance on love, life and the sweet things in-between. The light, jazzy, alternative EP is full of great vibes which is exactly what you need to enjoy hot days to chill and relax to, featuring the single Rom-com with Hannes and songs like Blue and Sweet Dreams.

ALANA SOUL – “Issues”/ “Love in London” EP

R&B singer Alana Soul has dropped visuals to her single “Issues” – the video let Soul accomplish a goal and push herself to be a dancer and not just a songwriter, the moves complimented the love and passion depicted in the song. The song is featured on her new EP ‘Love in London’ that comprises of 8 songs that gives listeners a taste of her vibe and sound. ‘Love in London’ is exactly what songstress Soul is singing about, her love for her city, all the things she’s experienced and the songs are pretty much a love note and testament to this.


Terrell Hines is an artist that is limitless and his music has no boundaries, his new single is a mix of sounds that makes Hines’ music unique to him, funk heavy, synths and effortlessly smooth. “Radon Dungeon” explores a toxic love but like his lyrics its also seductive in a very funky way “When you touch my body I feel electrified.” “You got a hold on me baby.” It is very much giving Zapp and Roger “Computer Love” vibes for those who know that song , “Radon Dungeon” is a song you’d enjoy.

PRITT ft. S.A.M – “Take 2” Duet EP

Now this is an exciting discovery, a new collaborative effort between R&B singer, Winner of Chip’s Artist search 2019 + BBC Asian Network Future Sounds Artist 2021, Pritt who has teamed up with North London rapper S.A.M. The EP combines culture, love and toxic relationships for a concept EP full of duets! it explores the ins and outs and emotions accompanied within a toxic relationship. This EP holds 8 beautifully crafted songs perfect for any summer mix or R&B playlist and between these two ‘Take 2’ is a thought provoking, healing and heartstring pulling journey from start to finish. Favourites include, ‘365’, ‘Thinking'(interlude) and ‘Trials and Tribulations’.

SAHXL – “C4” Single

For emerging 18 year old Sahxl making music is not just for popularity,  “The reason I got into music was because it was the only way I could find sanity through the things that were going on around me in my life. That was the outlet of my expression.” “C4”was produced by Khaled Rohan (Rihanna, Juice WRLD and Polo G) and Haan and for hip hop fans the single is worth a listen and is the first track to be released with more tracks to be released over the summer and fall.

 KTJ & CARLY – “Hidden” Single

For a sound that is a lot heavier and more influenced by electro-pop duo KTJ and Carly’s single ‘Hidden’ is a little bit darker and explores life struggles and the pain of loving someone who refuses to open up past the walls they’ve built. The song is powerful and lyrically strong and shows off their writing skills ” Unpacking all the clutter in my head”… it’s not your typical summer song but for their fans and new listeners it is a song to add to the mix with atmospheric synths and breathless instrumentation.

GUS HARROWER – “The Walls” Single

Scottish Musician Gus Harrower, has a new single released on the 11th June, it’s mellow, chilled, laid back and a traditional pop song. If you’re a fan of pop love songs then this song is one you can sing along too. With his soft vocals Harrower sings about an estranged relationship accompanied by tiktok saxophonist Karsten Belt. The song is set to be the second on his upcoming EP so he is an artist to look out for with more work coming on the horizon.

FREDDIE HAWMAN – “We Belong” Single

With his breakout song Freddie Hawman has dropped “We Belong” Hawman is showing the music industry just how talented he is with ‘We Belong’ a song inspired by broken hearts and a Romeo and Juliet type of love story. Coming from Pretoria, he has won local music awards including The Legends of Arts SA Championship for “Best entry-level performer”, “Best popular music student of the year” and “Best vocal with instrument student of the year”.  With more music on the way, this might be Hawman’s debut song but it’s not his last as he steps into his new music career.


Productions seamlessly synthesise elements of jazz, hip hop, R&B, reggae and grime. high praise from the likes of BBC 1XTRA, BBC Introducing, COLORS and GQ Magazine for his last release ‘A Dying Breed, Pt. I’ plus a recent nod from Hypebeast in their ‘New Gen: Spring 2021’ feature, Piers has quietly but confidently been making moves as an extremely adept artist to watch. 

The focus track is ‘Dreams Of A Dreamer’- the track sees Piers flex his vocal delivery with an R&B infused jam, backed by a catchy guitar hook.
