Kyle Gordon Takes Us on a Nostalgic Journey Back to the 90s on His New Parody Single ‘Planet of the Bass’

Kyle Gordon (also known as DJ Crazy Times), has dropped a fresh parody single, which astonishingly became a hit even before its official release. The music video preview, boasting over 100 million views, rapidly went viral on July 28th. Having been a consistent presence on Gordon’s TikTok, DJ Crazy Times now makes a grand entrance with this viral single. Premiering just before a Jonas Brothers concert, the track promptly seized the internet’s attention.

Here, the New York-based comedian DJ Crazy Times teams up with Ms. Biljana Electronica to mock 90s dance hits. Ironies of that era are skillfully highlighted, parodying themes of peace, drugs, and sex in the song’s lyrics. It masterfully captures the essence of the era’s dance hits in every aspect—lyrics, synth arrangements, and even vocal delivery. The lyrics sometimes venture into the absurd and abstract territory, reminiscent of tracks like ‘Blue (Da Ba Dee)‘ by Eiffel 65.

The accompanying music video, directed by Ori Segev & Noah Dixon, seamlessly blends various elements from 90s music videos. Futuristic machinery, aliens, religious imagery, and eccentric outfits all come together to create a chaotic yet fitting visual representation that perfectly complements the song. The visual even features karaoke-style subtitles, which are bound to have you unconsciously or consciously singing along.

Be sure to check out the video for the track below.
