Leon Thomas and Ty Dolla $ign Collaborate on the Authentic ‘FAR FETCHED’

Leon Thomas is one of the brightest stars in R&B, and having one of the best years of his career so far. Armed with the ability to create supremely addictive music like some of the all-time greats, he is truly the songwriter of the moment.

As he gears up to release his sophomore album ‘MUTT‘, he teased fans with yet another sensational single. ‘FAR FETCHED‘ sees him invite friend and label boss Ty Dolla $ign in on the fun. Furthermore, this collab makes perfect sense sonically, as Ty flexes his trademark big-boss energy while Leon plays it a bit more humblely.

As always, the New Yorker lays relatable lyrics on top of chefs-kiss production. He mixes in a killer hook that he seems to have an endless supply of. His complete honesty is what makes this track, and so much of his discography, so appealing.

In this single, he admits his girl is dreaming of their perfect future, but it’s absurd as they won’t last. He isn’t about to take the risk of marrying a paranoid partner – “It’s like you don’t know what to do, when it’s genuine.”, he croons.

This single is a small part of a larger puzzle coming together for the young star. It’s evident through the songs, the visuals, and his aura in recent interviews that his confidence is at an all-time high. His behind-the-scenes production and writing credentials saw him creating for all your favourite artists. But now, he’s keeping some of those smash hits for himself.

For those of us who remember him from his Nickelodeon days, it’s always been clear this performer harbours immense musical talent. He can play a variety of instruments and has a voice that sends shivers up your spine. To see this artist finally get the industry respect he deserves is a breath of fresh air.

Leon is signed to Ty’s EZMNY label and has drawn an array of big-name collaborators. Some of these collaborators include Benny the Butcher and close friend Victoria Monét. As I eagerly await to hear the new project, I will keep ‘FAR FETCHED‘ on repeat. It’s a great track to soundtrack the end of summer, and I hope all R&B fans agree.
