Little Simz Wins Prestigious Mercury Prize Against Big Competition
Little Simz has come out on top, winning the famed Mercury Prize and taking home the £25,000 cash prize. The award is highly decorated and has been won by some iconic albums over the years such as Ms. Dynamite’s ‘A Little Deeper‘ and Dizzee Rascal’s ‘Boy In Da Corner.’
The 4th studio album from Simz explored themes of womanhood and self-doubt while tackling her absent father and a cousin who was stabbed. With competition from the likes of Harry Styles, Self Esteem, Joy Crookes, and Kojey Radical, it was no mean feat to win. Little Simz now has been recognised for her success and alongside winning a Brit Award this year, will garner an even bigger fanbase.
