Fife artist NATI. has released a new single entitled ‘Midnight‘. This is the third release from her upcoming EP ‘Golden‘, set to drop in the Spring of next year. The song follows in the footsteps of ‘Heard It All Before‘ and the project’s title track.
Her debut EP, ‘Older,’ was released in 2023. Ever since she has been going from strength to strength. With over two million followers across her social media platforms, she has captured the attention of fans across the UK with festival appearances such as Kendal Calling and Belladrum. The momentum is only continuing with NATI. expected to perform new shows as well as a variety of festivals in the coming year. Working alongside the female songwriting duo INK. to create this single has proved successful.
The track ‘Midnight‘ is bursting at the seams with feeling. NATI. discusses her relationship with death and undoubtedly doesn’t shy away from expressing her raw emotions. In addition, I enjoyed the stripped-back quality this song provides through gentle piano notes and a folk influence. It lends itself nicely to the themes discussed and helps form the narrative. As the song progresses it builds into a more powerful piece because of the use of backing vocals and a rise in the music. I think this feels quite moving as a listener. There’s almost something fitting about this single being released as we enter winter, it feels like a great listen for darker and colder days.
