Singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone released her latest single, ‘To Love Somebody’, ahead of their latest album, ‘Cruel World’, planned for an April release.
The 26-year-old Midlander signed with Interscope and Polydor Records in 2021 and has exploded in popularity during her career to date, amassing millions of listeners a month on Spotify.
The alt-indie track is a breath of fresh air in the hazy music market at the moment. The overall raw tranquillity is quintessentially Humberstone, but with an added ‘je ne sais qoui’ that shows her growth as an artist.
Syncopated accompaniment accents cleverly placed lyrics in a more positive song than we have seen from the artist before. Hearing this singer break out of her shell and discover new depths of musicality is a treat to behold.
