IMMusicMonday: New Year, ‘New Me’ Courtesy Of Ella Eyre
Upping the confidence and doubling the sass British singer Ella Eyre returns with a brand new boy-bye anthem fittingly titled ‘New Me’.
Accompanied by bold maximalist visuals, the post break up pop song tells the story of the ex that just won’t let go.
First capturing the nation’s heart back in 2013 with her number 1 hit ‘Waiting All Night’, Ella McMahon better known by her stage the name Ella Eyre ushered in numerous moments of success throughout her career. This included winning single of the year at the 2014 Brit Awards. This was followed by a host of successful songs including a feature with DJ Fresh on his single ‘Gravity’, and with Sigala on their singles ‘Came Here for Love’ and ‘Just Got Paid’
Citing Lauryn Hill, Etta James, Basement Jaxx, and Hans Zimmer as her musical influences, it comes as no surprise that Ella’s sound is a colourful mix of soulful vocal melodies and up-tempo beats.
Ella Eyre took a brief hiatus after the release of her single ‘Mama’ in 2019 to address some more personal matters and rediscover who she was as an artist.

After taking some time out to grieve the loss of her father and reconnect with her creative roots, the singer has returned stronger than ever.
Picking up right where she left off the vocal firecracker, she bounces back with her catchy choruses, raspy warm vocals.
The release of the ‘New Me’ video comes ahead of her UK tour, which the singer will be heading out later this year.
