No Guidnce Tackle Romance & Hopelessness in New Single ‘Around Me’

Rising boyband No Guidnce recently dropped their swoon-worthy new single ‘Around Me’ on October 4th. Coined by the artists themselves as a song for ‘hopeless romantics’, this release is certified to be the new anthem for those unlucky in love.
The London-based quartet (Zeekay, Eshan, Josh, and Kaci) made their start sharing covers of R&B songs on TikTok. However, as traction grew and their fanbase increased the group quickly took the UK R&B scene by storm.
After filling the void left behind by the departure of former group member Ebubé, the group is back. To accompany the release of their fresh single, the band has released some compelling visuals. The video sees the boys flex flawless vocals and seamless harmonies inside an abandoned house surrounded by lovesick couples. The track delves into the anxieties of being alone while those around you find love: “I guess it’s just my luck, the right place at the wrong time / …Cupid can you hit me hard with a stray, ’cause I’ll take it.”. In addition to tackling the woes of loneliness, the group sport killer denim outfits.
Each member has their own verse, allowing them to showcase their vocal agility and unique sound. The outro, however, is arguably the most captivating part of the song. The four, provide a melodic acapella rendition of the chorus. The lack of instrumentation amplifies each singer’s voice and illustrates just how well the artists blend their voices. Overall, the addition of the song’s choral outro highlights the ensemble’s vocal diversity.
Since their humble beginnings, No Guidnce has performed with artist Mahalia and produced an array of singles. One single in particular, ‘Is it A Crime?’, boasts over 2.8 million views on YouTube alone. Alongside the powerhouse girl group FLO, this trailblazing quadruple threat is partly responsible for the steadfast resurgence of R&B groups in the UK.
