Oppidan Starts 2025 Strong with ‘lose my head’

UKG is having a great time right now, with so many talented artists setting dancefloors alight across the world. One of those rising stars is Bristolian, Oppidan, who had a successful 2024. This included collaborations with Frisco and Cutty Ranks, remixes for Sonny Fodera and Diffrent, and a new EP. But, alongside a North American tour, the Purple List 2025 member is going in hard early with her latest single.
The first release since the ‘UNTITLED SINES‘ EP, ‘lose my head‘ immediately has your attention with its atmospheric sound. The synthy keyboard, echoing sampled vocals, and energetic drums all fit together nicely. The chorus then comes in with a warbly synth line and those vocals become more soulful and energised. There is an element of early Sammy Virjii to this one, but it delivers as a more laid-back skanking tune.
We’re sure it’ll be the first banger of many this year, ahead of what is looking like a stacked calender. Not only is this artist already touring the U.S. and Canada, but she has U.K. dates coming this month. This includes in her home city of Bristol at Motion and London’s Village Underground.
