Anjali Taneja releases her latest smooth singing single, Paradise, the song is delicate, showcasing her soft vocals. It describes the emotion of finding paradise in a total euphoria that Taneja is able to “die right here” when creating art with someone you love, “…you wrote those chords about me.”She is telling a story of infatuation experienced in the simplest of moments with your love.
Born in Washington DC, she is a trained North Indian classical music and jazz vocalist, from a young age, but draws inspiration from acts like Mariah Carey, Etta James, and Snoh Aalegra. The R&B singer is keen to entangle modern R&B/Soul sounds with her multicultural roots for people to commend and embrace who they are.
Our favourite part of the track has to be moments toward the end, where Taneja finally displays her vocal range. Stunning falsettos and riffs that were not present in the body of the song, is somewhat disappointing but the song is on the shorter side, leaving listeners wanting to experience other records.
She is no stranger to this, in 2019 the singer co-wrote ‘Only Love’ featuring Bollywood artist, Pav Dharia. And featured on Spotify playlists like ‘Fresh Finds’, ‘No Borders’, and ‘New Music Friday India’. She has reigned in an impressive fanbase too, with 600k global streams and 20k monthly listeners.
