Baby Welcome To The Party!

PartyNextDoor fans, pop that champagne and join us in celebration.

After two years of pure silence, our OVO king has returned from hibernation!

Though it was refreshing to see an artist go against the grain and take time to hone their craft in such a fast-paced industry,  we really did miss you Jahron aka PartyNextDoor.

Tight-lipped on the exact release date, the Toronto native has confirmed that his next album will be released sometime in February and will be renamed PartyMobile, instead of the previous title – Club Atlantis.

Knowing how eager fans are for new material, the Canadian crooner did return earlier this month to release a visual for Drake collab – ‘Loyal.’

Released last November,  Loyal and The News is certainly no Break From Toronto, yet the two songs have still gained a place on our commuting playlist.

The former, a dancehall influenced mid-tempo jam, is the superior of the two. Surprisingly, revealing a side of modern R&B not seen too often, the usual toxicity we have come to expect from the men in the genre is forged on the track. Loyal is a celebration anthem of loyalty – to ONE woman.

An attachment so powerful to his significant other that when she’s not around he gets “dizzy”.

  • “I just don’t want anyone / No one at home.”

Considering that for the latter part of the decade, PND has become our go-to in terms of anti-commitment tunes, it does feel surprising to see him return back to the scene with a song about faithfulness.

However, we are not complaining so PND please don’t leave again.

Drake makes an appearance, though his contribution is forgettable and feels more like an added part for streaming figures than a collaborative feature.

The William Child-directed claymation visual for the song is nothing short of stunning. Premiering on Adult Swim, PND is a spy who has been summoned by the Canadian government to save the city of Toronto.

A nod to the claymation era of 90s kid TV shows, forgive us for expecting to see a re-enactment of the iconic thunderbird scene.
