PinkPantheress Starts a New Era with a Change in Sound on ‘Tonight’

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

PinkPantheress has never been one to shy away from blending dance music with pop sensibilities. Whether UKG or Drum’n’Bass, she has always made bangers from classic samples or brought these sounds into her world. After a relatively quiet 2024, she is now back with a bang on ‘Tonight‘.

This song brings orchestral and West Coast influences to the table, but also Sheffield’s finest export, Bassline. Yes, the sound that many will know from taking over the clubs in the late 00s may be having a revival in the mainstream. While it has continued to thrive in dirty warehouses and clubs, could we see it return to the mainstream as garage and D’n’B have?

As for the track itself, the artist sings of two people having feelings for each other and needing the courage to make that first move. Her melodic singing and its tempo changes match that wobbly bassline sound courtesy of herself, Count Baldor, and aksel arvid.

This track comes fresh off the announcement of a new project coming on May 9th. Further to this, it will be the follow-up to her debut album, ‘Heaven knows‘. Whatever that record sounds like, it is nice to see Bassline potentially being introduced to the charts once again.
