Pisceze Wants You to “Play It Back” in New Single

Singer-songwriter Pisceze wants to relive the moment in her new single – “Play It Back”.

The Toronto-based star is known for writing songs for the likes of Shawn Mendes, Sabrina Carpenter, and one of the biggest K-Pop groups – BTS. Being of dual Korean/Japanese heritage, Pisceze takes inspiration from K-Pop, while fusing it with R&B/Soul-Pop.

Some of her musical influences include Destiny’s Child, B2K, and the iconic alternative rock band – Nirvana. Having such a variety of influences from the East and West inspired Pisceze to forge her own path – creating a new breed of musical genre.

With her new single, “Play It Back”, Pisceze took inspiration from the 90s and 2000s R&B sound everybody loved while not forgetting to incorporate a current sound. Pisceze lays down some sultry vocals furthered emphasized by the song’s beat as you feel every word she says. As well as having a nostalgic feel to it, “Play It Back” has a nostalgic meaning as it explores enjoying a moment so much you want to relive it over and over again.

When describing the song, Pisceze stated: “Play It Back” is a song about how powerful ‘time’ is. You can gain anything in the world but time. Time heals all and everything takes time. I always say “take me back” when I think of good memories and I wanted the listeners to feel that same feeling when listening to the song so I called it “Play it back”.

Since her debut in 2019, with the single “What’s Your Sign”, Pisceze has released a number of singles with “Blame”, “Five” and “Lay Up” being popular tracks. The R&B artist has also made appearances in: Honk Magazine, Bandwagon Asia, and Complex Canada – with all praising her craft and unique style.
