Rachel Chinouriri Is Giddy in New Hit ‘Can we talk about Isaac?’

Rachel Chinouriri is in love, and we’re in love with her. ‘Can we talk about Isaac?’ is the newest addictive single in her growing repertoire of anthems. This up-and-comer is having her main-character moment this year. She is currently opening for pal and fellow pop princess Sabrina Carpenter on tour, and relishing in her recent BRIT nominations. But scrap that – she wants to talk about Isaac, her love, her prized possession – and we’re all ears.

The Londoner is no newbie to uber-personal lyrics. Her 2024 debut album ‘What A Devastating Turn of Events‘ housed some of the best indie pop I’ve heard recently. It plays like a diary, as she recounts extremely personal stories about her upbringing, her family, and her emotions. This new single is similarly personal but utterly euphoric and gushy.

With a bridge that will get stuck in your head for days, Rachel perfectly captures that obsessive feeling at the start of every new relationship. ‘I looked at your face and knew that I found it / I don’t know nobody who knows somebody like you‘ she chants joyously.

In contrast, she lets the track breathe by stripping down to simple harmonies at times with simple claps. Producers Chloe Kraemer and apob then proceed to let it rip. The Zimbabwean-British songstress then explodes into the chorus. Her mission is simple – she wants to steer every conversation back to her new love. Undeniably, we’ve all been there.

This song feels like it should soundtrack a montage of a date in an arcade in particular. It radiates fun, silliness, and kissing in the Photo Booth energy. I can imagine the music video showing cute couples manic with infatuation.

Furthermore, the epic weaving of the electric guitar supports the upbeat vibe of the track. However, it has its more serious moments. A common thread in this artist’s music is her struggles with perfectionism and comparison to others. She can’t believe her luck that Isaac wants her, and knows she must stop these self-sabotaging thoughts.

Undoubtedly, it’s this unfiltered honesty that has fans craving her music. As a result, this artist is building a solid fanbase. She has humorously been re-sharing fans online posting about who or what their ‘Isaac’ is in their lives that they can’t stop talking about.

We are in luck as this pop star is prolific with her output. She announced that this single is fresh off a new EP ‘Little House’, dropping in April. In conclusion, we cannot wait to hear more from one of Britain’s most promising young talents.
