Rizzle Kicks’ Comeback Continues with New Single ‘Gumdrops’

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The iconic British duo, Rizzle Kicks, have released their second single ‘Gumdrops‘ after a musical hiatus of almost a decade. Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sulé haven’t released an album since their 2013 release ‘Roaring 20s‘. With this set to change, they are working to show fans they’ve still got it.

Gumdrops‘ focuses on the ‘lad culture’ the duo grew up surrounded by. The opening rap begins without a backing track, instantly capturing the rawness of the message behind the song. The beat is reminiscent of summer, with an upbeat tone and vibrant production. Here, the music feels modern and new, an impressive feat for artists who have been out of the scene for so long. Having a change in pace and rhythm in the final minute of the track demonstrates their continuing capability as musicians.

Rizzle Kicks’ comeback has only just begun. The first headline show of their comeback is at London’s KOKO on the 8th November. A small selection of gigs has been announced with more appearances expected. As fans wait for more details on their upcoming album, it is clear that big things are once more on the horizon for the duo.
