Skee Teams Up with DJ Semtex on Latest Release ‘No Designer’

Skee is certainly one of the next up in U.K. rap, as chosen by many, including us for our Purple List. But, for his first release of the year, he has teamed up with the legendary DJ Semtex for ‘No Designer‘. The bouncy production from the broadcaster and DJ is complimented nicely by the pacey flow.
The sound and feel of this track certainly take inspiration from sub-genres of hip-hop past and present, but feels fresh and far from the prominent sounds of rap coming out of the U.K. right now. This is much more melodic and braggadocious than Skee normally brings to the table, but he spits well and does the job nicely.
Overall, the song is a lot of fun and feels ready to hit the clubs. Semtex knows a talent when he sees one, so this is a big co-sign for the South Londoner. Not only showing his versatility, this number proves that this MC has what it takes to compete with the U.K.’s big hitters.
