Spiritbox Deliver A New Metalcore Classic

Canadian heavy metal band Spiritbox has returned with their release of ‘Perfect Soul‘ as well as the previous single ‘Soft Spine‘. With a new album on the horizon, there’s plenty for fans to be excited for.
Rising Success
With a recent Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance for their track ‘Cellar Door‘ and a spot at Download Festival in 2025, they seem to be moving from success to success. In March, the group will release a new album entitled ‘Tsunami Sea‘. Since Spiritbox came onto the scene back in 2017, they have continued to define the genre and garner further attention.
Lead vocalist Courtney LaPlante is a voice to take note of. The genre of modern metalcore often consists of very similar features, and Spiritbox’s singer is really what makes them unique to me. In addition, Courtney’s vocals really push this band to the next level for me. As soon as I heard her on the latest track I knew she is still in her prime and I’m eagerly anticipating what more she can bring to the table in their upcoming LP. Lead guitarist Mike Stringer is married to the frontwoman which provides real chemistry that only adds to the authenticity of the group.
The previous release, ‘Soft Spine‘ provides the energy and anger the band is known for. What’s more, the track has already garnered over 5 million streams on Spotify. This could be a real pivotal track for the group. I think this heavier song is less radio-friendly yet more authentic to what the fans love them for. However, both singles are enough to excite me for what the band has in store for the future.
