Toosii Hears Wedding Bells in Latest Track ‘I Do’
Internet singer sensation, Toosii released the video his brand-new single ‘I Do’. The visuals were released on October 22nd and feature seasoned songwriter Muni Long.
Prior to his latest release, Nau’Jour Grainger gave the world ‘JADED‘. This is his first project since ‘NAUJOUR‘, a majorly personal album that holds up as his namesake. Additionally, that previous LP went gold in the U.S. and showcased some of his best work. However, now his current release is giving it a run for its money. Moreover, this talent and dedication shine through in ‘I Do’. The tune carries the message of undying love, vowing to always be faithful. As a result, it creates the perfect mix of sweet nothings and smooth R&B sounds.
A standout part of the song is the backing beat that carries the pair’s chemistry. This is thanks to producers Jeff ‘Gitty’ Gitelman, The Monsters and Strangerz, and Kevin Theodore. Namely, they are all extremely talented and work with the best of the best. Likewise, Long’s voice matches Toosii’s sound perfectly, bringing an early 2000s style into a 2024 love story. Demonstrated best in the lyrics “Got everything I want, got everything I need / You’re my boo.”, they are reminiscent of Nelly and Kelly Rowland‘s iconic ‘Dilemma’ or Usher and Alicia Keys’ ‘My Boo’.
Accompanied by a music video stacked with faces to recognise, singer and actor Trevor Jackson stars as Muni’s love interest. Meanwhile, actor and comedian Malik Bazille makes a cameo as he tries to drive a wedge between Grainger and his own significant other. Nevertheless, love prevails even through difficult times, giving us all hope. Thus fitting in perfectly with the cosiness of autumn love, the silky-smooth storytelling is easily relatable and fills up your ears with adoration. At the same time, it is impossible not to feel loved up by Toosii himself leaning into his own love for love. He even goes as far as officiating a wedding in Central Park. There is no doubt he has been playing these wedding bells right into our ears.
After a sold-out headline tour in 2023, it seems that he is using this downtime to give us some of his best work to date. Hopefully, this new project could mean yet another tour for listeners to submerse themselves in his sound.
