New York City-based independent artist Zora Smith makes a smooth R&B entrance with her first single Growing Pains.
Growing Pains is an optimistic break-up song that acknowledges the love, resentment, and hope for new beginnings that linger post-break-up. Zora confesses in the song that she’s ‘still a little salty, a little bitter’ whilst simultaneously asking her ex-lover ‘can we be in the same room?’. The song radiates a sense of acceptance from Zora and a hope that her ex-lover will eventually feel the same.
Zora, who is a singer-songwriter and producer, started performing in the local jazz and music scene at the age of 15 before eventually venturing into producing her own music.
