Bastie Ingram had his first performance at Victorious Festival this past Sunday, August 25th. The festival featured an impressive lineup, including The Kooks, Wet Leg, Arlo Parks, and more. Among these well-known names, Bastie’s performance stood out. I was fortunate enough to capture some photographs during his set and witness the magic firsthand.

Taking the stage at 17:45 on the Under The Trees stage, Bastie was joined by his talented bandmates: Aleksander Staalesen on guitar, Sam Clarke on bass, and Pablo Amador on drums. As the sun began to dip, the singer opened the set with an introduction to the crowd. Further to this, there was an establishment of a warm and engaging presence. His relaxed yet confident banter set the tone for the performance, inviting the audience to come closer as they kicked things off with the track ‘Too Late‘.

As the music began to fill the air, the crowd started to respond. They were moving closer to the stage, dancing, and even picking up on the lyrics as the song progressed. It was clear from the outset that Bastie and his band were here to make an impression. Transitioning seamlessly, they moved into ‘Up n Away‘, which further drew people in. Consequently, the energy peaked when they launched into a crowd-pleasing cover of The Killers’ ‘Human‘, which had everyone singing along.
As the set continued, Bastie treated the audience to two of his most recent singles. Released early this year, ‘She’s Got to Go‘ and ‘Whiskey‘ were both a highlight. After that, the crowd was fully invested, dancing and singing along with every note. Additionally, the chemistry between himself and his band was electric. Staalesen’s improvised guitar solos were a highlight, while Sam Clarke’s bass grooves kept everyone moving. Also, Pablo Amador’s drumming added a joyful intensity to the performance.

As the set neared its end, something magical happened. Moreover, bubbles began to fill the air, creating a whimsical atmosphere that perfectly matched the band’s upbeat energy. With smiles all around, the band wrapped up with an unreleased track before closing with the irresistibly catchy ‘Trouble‘.

Finally, as the last notes rang out and the bubbles dissipated, it was clear that this was just the beginning for Bastie Ingram. His debut at Victorious Festival was a success, leaving the audience eager for more. In conclusion, there’s no doubt that he will have even more listeners and fans lining up for his music in the future.
