Tom’s Picks
Skepta – Play Me Right
With summer on the horizon, it is a good time for Skepta to return to producing some house bangers. ‘Más Tiempo Vol. 2‘ provides three new tracks, with the standout being ‘Play Me Right‘. This seven-minute number provides melodic piano plonks, pacey kick drums, and warbly synths that create a danceable beat. It continues to maintain its momentum throughout by adding and removing instruments and vocals to maintain freshness and intrigue. Hopefully, we get some more of this side of Skeppy, but if not, these are sure to soundtrack a few fields, beaches, and clubs soon.

KABEAUSHÉ – THE FINAL PROCESSION
This Purple List 2026 artist may have already dropped an album a couple of months back, but they continue to give their fans new music. The wind and brass at the start make this feel like a theatrical epic or an iconic intro to an RPG. Musicality-wise, this knows how to keep the right tempo, quietening down at points, before pulling you back in again and again. Truly, this is a song that in a live show would be epic and an unforgettable experience.

Tsatsamis – Violent Thoughts
From one of the current crop to a previous Purple List alumnus, Tsatsamis has finally dropped his debut mixtape, ‘Tsycophant‘. This number opens the mixtape, and does so with a bang, with that speedy melody. The vocals are delivered in a calm way at first, before increasing in intensity as the chorus hits. It matches the feelings he has towards the person he is thinking about. A great start to what I’m sure is going to be a fun ride of pop and dance joy.

Redlight FT. Capo Lee – Pressure
You can always count on Redlight to deliver a banger and Capo Lee to effortlessly sound cool with the bars. Together, that feeling ain’t changed. This doesn’t waste time and quickly gets into the drop and Mysie’s smooth delivery. Once Capo comes in, the bubbly effects match the vibe, as he gives a couple of short but sweet verses. I await an extended mix (if there is one), but this song will have you skanking the night away, nevertheless.

Saskia – If I’m Alive
After a breakout year, Saskia is back for 2026 and sounding as good as ever. The melancholic piano and vocal combo is well-versed at this point, but this artist provides so much emotion in their performance. You can hear every tear, pain, and upsetting thought in their singing, while the production’s slightly distorted feel matches this. Anyone can be a good singer, but to express feelings, that is a talent.

Kloe’s Picks
Conan Gray – Door
Conan Gray is known for his introspective songwriting and emotionally charged pop sound. Today, he is back dropping his deluxe version of his fourth studio album ‘Wishbone‘. By adding five more tracks to the mix, he enriches a project that captures the complexities of youth, heartbreak, and identity. ‘Door‘ has struck me through its raw storytelling and heartbreaking yearning for closure. It’s masterful.

Blossoms – Joke About Divorce
The polished, synth-driven Blossoms are back with a hilarious, yet painstakingly real track about relationship quarrels. The Stockport natives bring their trademark bittersweet songwriting to an uber-catchy track that captures that moment when you know it’s no time for jokes.
Ebony Riley – SOS
Fans of up-and-coming R&B will already be well aware of Ebony Riley. With one of the smoothest voices in the genre right now, it’s impossible to play her without someone asking, ‘Who is that?‘. In her sexiest undertaking yet, Riley has dropped a candid LP today, entitled ‘Beautiful Tragedy‘. Whilst the track with Skilla Baby is flooding the internet (as it rightfully should), I’ve been drawn to ‘SOS‘. It’s about wanting to wave the white flag in a heartbreak war, and it’s definitely worth a listen.
Luvcat – Vampire at the Beach
Liverpudlian Luvcat is one of our Purple List picks for 2026, and she is proving why. This emerging artist merges her atmospheric sound with a gothic vibe about a love that’s verging on vampiric. It comes off her aptly titled upcoming EP ‘Lovebites‘, and is a perfect slice of drama to liven up your weekend.
Nxdia – Lovemesick
If you like WILLOW or Billie Eilish and their ultra-cool pop vibe, you’ll adore Nxdia. They have dropped their freshest EP today, ‘Lovemesick‘, and the titular track is a feverish track that transcends from calm verses to a thumping chorus that is so catchy. The entire EP is worth a listen, but I’d recommend this one to get you going.
