Oxford-based up-and-coming group South Arcade has released their latest track ‘Supermodels‘. The guitarist Harry Winks produced the single and it was released via LAB Records. It combines a passion for pop-punk and Y2K sounds with a fresh spin.
Formed in 2021, the group has been compared to the likes of Bring Me The Horizon for their style of alternative rock which is able to lean on a variety of influences. Their latest track features electronic influences mixed with the 2000s-esque sound that they have mastered. Lead singer Harmony Cavelle has a unique voice that instantly grabs my attention. Equally, the band masterfully crafted lyricism that delves into themes of fame and the music industry.
The mix provided by Thomas Mitchener helps to polish the sound and modernise it in a way that is distinctly current even though it leans on influences from years past. Hyper-pop elements help add power to the choruses, which high-energy guitar-playing drives. Harry Winks’ guitar playing has a style that is reminiscent of pop-punk masters Sum 41 and Green Day.
The single’s overall aesthetic complements their debut EP, ‘2005‘, which they released in December of last year. 2025 is looking to be an exciting year for the group as they embark on a selection of live dates, including playing iconic festivals such as Reading & Leeds and Slam Dunk Festival.
