Ella Mai has officially returned with her third studio album, ‘Do You Still Love Me?‘, and it may be her most intimate release yet. The Grammy-winning R&B powerhouse has come a long way from ‘Boo’d Up‘, as she continues to prove she is an artist with depth, range, and staying power.
The new record is executive produced by DJ Mustard, a long-time collaborator of Mai’s and the head of her record label. Mustard’s signature up-tempo, catchy production is perfect for the versatile Londoner, as she showcases a new level of emotional honesty.

Across the album, Ella leans into the many layers of love and growth, delivering a body of work that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable. The album title ‘Do You Still Love Me?‘ gives a sense of vulnerability that threads through every song on the record.
The opening track, ‘There Goes My Heart‘, immediately sets the tone. On the track, Ella embraces the risk of loving deeply, signalling a new chapter marked by openness and emotional courage.
Elsewhere on the album, ‘Somebody’s Son‘ finds her in a softer, more romantic space. She sings about a man who has fully captured her heart — someone she truly sees a future with. Ella seems to have found this with her longtime love, Jayson Tatum. The pair kept their relationship private and welcomed their child in 2024. Fans are loving the music this artist is making in her new era of motherhood and unconditional love.
In contrast, ‘Might Just‘ showcases her assertive side. Addressing a partner whose attention has started to wander, Ella makes it clear she’s no longer willing to accept dishonesty or disloyalty, confidently drawing her boundaries. Even when the singer is creating sassier tunes, there’s an undeniable comfort factor for me in hearing her voice. It carries a warmth and softness that makes her stand out from her R&B contemporaries.
This project also features standout tracks like ‘100‘, which fans first heard during Ella’s intimate Los Angeles shows. This is my favourite track on the record for its punchy lyrics that pull on the heartstrings. This is clearly a song from a woman drunk in love. However, I also highly recommend ‘Little Things’, which I previously reviewed. Frankly, this song is still on repeat. I’m all for R&B tracks celebrating healthy relationships!
That being said, if you like things a little messy – she has you covered too. ‘Tell Her‘ is a track full of venom over her partner’s ex blowing up his phone. “You better tell her you love me / Put no one above me.“, she sings to her man. She is not afraid to be the villain and is fiercely possessive. This is an artist not ashamed to make a bold statement, and this is the confidence we need in 2026.
Leading up to the release, Ella strengthened her connection with fans through a heartfelt social media countdown, sharing daily ‘love letters’ that revealed the inspiration and meaning behind each track. She creates spaces where fans feel included in her journey. Instead of just promoting a project, they invite listeners into the meaning behind it.
With ‘Do You Still Love Me?‘, this singer-songwriter delivers a mature R&B record that captures her artistic evolution. Moreover, she manages to stay true to the soulful storytelling that made fans fall in love with her in the first place. This record touches fans as you get a sense she’s documenting chapters of her life in real time. Sensitive and heartfelt music, when paired with undeniable vocal talent, continues to be her greatest strength.
The album is now available on all streaming platforms, with CD and vinyl editions offered through her official store.
