UK rap is having a moment as the headliners and the new wave gear up to drop classics. South London rapper Proph is one of the respected faces of fresh rap talent and solidifies this with his newest single.
Exuding mobster energy and unfiltered honesty, ‘Milano‘ sees him flex formidable wordplay. “Red carpets on bleed when PR roll through / Still it’s no promotion”.
From likening himself to the Ronaldo of UK rap and being too far gone for Instagram, this single packs a playful punch. The Londoner linked with Grammy Award-winning producer J.Lbs for this song – showcasing how the industry is recognising his star quality. Furthermore, Proph joins the likes of Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, and Kali Uchis as a collaborator with this respected musician.
Repping Thornton Heath, he has been enjoying the success of his 2023 debut album, ‘Lost In Translation‘. Further to this, he performed at Reading Festival 2023 on the BBC Radio 1Xtra stage along with rising rap titans Clavish and Malaki. He is expanding beyond his London roots, linking with Birmingham boy MIST as the opener for his UK tour last year.
