First Listen Fridays: New Music to Know – 13th June 2025

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Another week means another round of First Listen Fridays! This feature sees the IndustryMe Editors share the newest tracks they’re most excited about this week. As music journalists, we hear a lot of music and are always on the lookout for rising talent. Thereby, we hope you think we have developed a good ear for greatness.

This week, Thomas Atkinson and Kloe Paton share their faves ranging from huge collaborations to summer anthems.

Tom’s Picks

Mark Ronson and RAYESuzanne

This track is pure late-night jazz club vibes, with the funky production and RAYE’s delivery echoing classic Amy Winehouse. Her vocals have a real energy, hitting the high notes and showing that the South London singer is having a great time. A huge collaboration that has both artists operating at peak efficiency!

Vicky TrantouAddicted

With plenty of rave genres seeing a resurgence in the last few years, U.K. funky was always going to get some love. Vicky brings the swagger and the vibes to this one matching the bouncy beat with the right energy and delivery. A fun love jam that will have you grooving all weekend long.

TSHARevolution

Her first solo release of 2025, this is a huge house bop that will have you 2-stepping to your heart’s content. The sampled dialogue calls to put your phone down and join the revolution, a message of living life rather than witnessing it. A good message and a great track, you can’t complain.

Skream & BengaGood Things Come To Those Who Wait

As the title suggests, we have been waiting for an official single from these two for a while. The drop is a bit more subtle than I was expecting, with the bass and the sampled vocals providing the backbone of the track. It builds and changes as the song goes on, providing an entertaining return from two dubstep icons.

KTJ & CARLYHere I Go Again

This has been a big week for duos, with this my final pick. The bass grabs your attention from the get-go, while the melancholic vocals match the vibe nicely. The chorus then hits, with the sisters harmonising well over this industrial-esque beat. This feels like a change in sound, but I and others will certainly not be complaining.

Kloe’s Picks

LUVRITENaked Minds

I’m officially swooning. LUVRITE is the newest alt-R&B artist we should all be crushing on with his suave lyrics and effortless vocals. This up-and-coming Londoner creates a dreamy atmosphere with this new single, as he croons over loving his partner for exactly who they are, completely unfiltered.

Olamide99 feat Seyi Vibez, Asake, Young Jonn, Daecolm

You can kick off the weekend with high energy with the help of Olamide. Decades ago Prince asked us to party like it’s 1999, and now the young musician teams up with an all-star cast of Afrobeat stars to ask the same. Utterly addictive and feel good, you can’t help but move your body to this track.

KehlaniFolded

Adding to her repertoire of solid gold hits, Kehlani showcases her compassionate and apologetic side in this 2000s-inspired track. Her first solo release since ‘While We Wait 2‘, she flips Usher’sConfessions‘ to work for her. This is one of the best vocal performances I’ve ever heard her deliver – she just keeps getting better and better.

Leikeli47famous

Possessing big bars and an even bigger ego (in the absolute best way) Leikeli47 is a female rapper with incredible versatility to get behind. Her fourth studio album, ‘Lei Keli ft. 47 / For Promotional Use Only‘ is out today with ‘Famous‘ being the track I really can’t stop playing. This project boasts a fresh and varied collection of tracks showcasing her certifiable star quality.

Geo BaddooLook At Me

If this weekend you’re looking for easy listening, delve into the world of Geo Baddoo. Her music is warm, soulful, and teeming with raw emotion. She will really speak to fans of Cleo Sol. ‘Look At Me‘ is the perfect introduction to this exciting new artist.
